to the Kent Family History Society. Established in 1974 as the
largest and oldest Family History Society in Kent, with more than
2,400 members worldwide, we are uniquely able to help members
to learn how to research their own family tree. If you
join the society today your membership will run until June
The Society is managed by an Executive Committee which meets 4
times a year, these Committee members are all volunteers, as are
those who run the Branches.
The Society publishes an informative quarterly journal which is
sent free to members. Members are invited to list their research
interests by signing in to the society's members area.
Branch meetings are held in Ashford, Canterbury, Deal, Maidstone,
Medway (Frindsbury), Thanet (Birchington). In addition, there
is an on-line "Global Branch".
We have published more than 2,000 records on microfiche; a range
of CDs with indexes to Parish Registers and census returns; more
than a million C.M.B. records for Kent have been put on Find my
Past. We are always looking for new transcribers.
These publications are available from our online
shop. The Society also has an extensive Library
open to members to visit (by appointment) or to borrow from.
The current constitution can be viewed from its own page.
next Society AGM will be on Saturday 14th October 2017 at Canterbury. [See details]
